August 24, 2017 - Last Letter from the MTC
Last letter from the MTC
Last week in the MTC is almost over. Great week and to start it
off last Friday we got our flight plans and we leave Monday morning and fly
directly to Amsterdam and then up North to Oslo. I started packing today
and can't believe it's almost time to go. The thing I will miss most is
being around all of the other missionaries in our zone. We once again
taught many lessons this week and had a skype lesson were we taught a member
from Norway who lives in Tromso. The sister missionaries were also at her
house so the pressure was on. I also got to help out with the tours again
this week and it was fun to run into some people that I knew.
Yesterday we got to host the new missionaries and go through
orientation with them again. It was kind of fun to re-live the first day
all over again right before I leave. It's nice being a missionary that
has been here for a while because you feel like you know everything going on
around you except the new language. Come next week I will be the newbie all
over again and I can't wait.
There's nothing better than study time and especially
studying in the new buildings. We had 2 subs this week in class that couldn’t
speak Norwegian so we got more personal study time which was really nice.
The language is coming slowly but you speak something new every
day that you thought you didn't know the day before. Can't wait to fly to
Norway on Monday and can’t wait to begin serving.
Studied a lot about Joseph Smith
this week and it really encourages me to work hard because he did so much and
he never gave up on it. It is truly amazing that the church has been
restored and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

Hi Mom - Great week and thank you for your packages and ties and
the vans. Another long but good week here. My flight is Monday at 2:39 so
I will try and call you before then but if not I’ll talk to you at Christmas.
I do have a lot of pictures that I need to send but they are on other cameras
that I am working on getting. I have a 6 hour layover in Amsterdam so
that will be fun and then up to Oslo. I can't believe it’s time to go and
I couldn't be more excited to go to a place like Norway. Another busy
week of lessons in Norwegian but also in English as being the district leader
means teaching an hour on Tuesday night and another hour to Two on Sunday along
with a lot of meetings. But because of it I feel like I have learned a ton and
now I feel so comfortable doing anything in English after doing everything in
Norwegian. The elders in our zone have so much fun. I’m still loving it here and learning so
much. I feel like P days are one of the busiest days of the week but we
look forward to them so much it's weird. Tell everyone I love them and
that if I don't respond it's because I have no time left. Love you

Hello everyone.
Another great week in the MTC. The news for the week is Elder Bednar came
and that was amazing. So fun to have an apostle come. I became district
leader this week and I am learning a ton from it. It requires me to be on
top of things a lot more but i'm grateful for the opportunity to do it.
In the Tuesday devotional a big thing was put one foot in front of the
other. I love all the elders in my zone. We do everything together and
laugh a ton. I am really excited to be heading to Norway in 18
days. Can't believe its almost here. Lets hope I get a lot better at the
language before then. Everything is great and I'm still loving being a
missionary. Sorry for the short email.

Hey Mom. I am just going
to say this first so I don't forget but will you send me some more church socks
and could you send me a green tie? Kind of like the red one we ordered before I
left. Another great week in here. I have been the district leader since
Sunday and it's fun but a lot of work. The thing that surprised me most was that
I would laugh as hard as I do at night with the Elders. We literally fall
to the ground laughing so hard. The thing I don't like is how long the
days are and how short the weeks are. Days take forever and weeks go by
way fast. Fridays and Saturdays are the hardest days of the week, but once I
get through those it’s nice. Yes! I am getting lots of letters. I'm still
loving it. It's long but great. Have a great week! Love you.

Hello everyone. What another amazing week here in the MTC. Fun to
see some of you coming through on the tours. I had the opportunity to be
in charge of the beginning part of the tour for a day which I absolutely
loved.
This week was filled with many lessons and TRC's but I love them
so much. Planning lessons in Norwegian can be stressful but it helps us learn
so much. I've just always got to remember that I know more than I think I do.
It's a lot of fun being in a branch with all of the Swedish
Elders. They are all awesome and it’s fun to get to know them.
We had the general Relief Society President come and talk to us on
Tuesday and her big thing she talked about was that we as missionaries are
helping people truly see and know who they are.
It really encourages us to do our best and work as hard as we can
as missionaries. I love it and I love being a missionary.
